Oregon Odonata
I am a certified Oregon Naturalist through Oregon State University with a concentration on the Willamette Valley ecoregion. Odonata is my biggest passion, followed by birds, herps, and native plants. I am a member of the Dragonfly Society of the Americas and my husband and I spend our summers looking for odonates across Oregon, striving to take spectacular photos of all 90+ species in our state.
Below is just a sampling and every photo here and in our SmugMug gallery was taken in Oregon by one of us during our adventures looking for odonates. So far, we are up to 33 species in our iNaturalist project!
Dragonflies are absolutely wondrous. I have even created a vibrant presentation where I provide an introduction on Odonata and which species you can see in Oregon, for groups who are interested in learning more about these amazing animals.
